Feature Report: The Communications and Security Establishment of Canada, or CSEC – also in the news due to spying on Canadians and world leaders along with the NSA during the G20 in Toronto – is being taken to court by the BC Civil Liberties Association for violations to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with regards to the Charters protection’s against unreasonable search and seizure. Christian Deo was joined by Michael Vonn, the policy director of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association to talk about CSEC and the alarming lack of oversight of this secretive government surveillance agency.
