Feature Interview: Deepan Budlakoti was stripped of his Canadian citizenship in May 2010, despite the fact that he was born in the country and his parents are Canadian citizens. The 24 year old is currently fighting the Canadian government for the right to stay in the country. News Now contributor Ayushi Sharma speaks to Deepan Budlakoti about his case. Independent Arts Report: Casandra London speaks to Nayani Thiyagarajah about Shadeism, her documentary short, an introduction to the issue of shadeism, discrimination that exists between the lighter-skinned and darker-skinned members of the same community.
